Horizon West is one of the fastest-changing parts of West Orange. New neighborhoods keep popping up, and Hamlin is its town center, with places to eat, shop and hang out by the lake. Hamlin is in unincorporated Orange County, but it uses a Winter Garden mailing address, so you will see both names.
Best things to do in Horizon West
Shop the Homegrown Market. On the first and third Sundays of the month, local makers and food vendors set up at 16016 New Independence Pkwy., next to Filigree Coffee. There is live music and yoga, and Cars and Coffee joins in on first Sundays. It runs 9 AM to 1 PM, and the next one is Sunday, Nov. 15. Park on the first floor of the Cinépolis garage. Cheap movie night. Cinépolis Hamlin at 14111 Shoreside Way has half-price movies on Tuesdays.
Mini golf at PopStroke. PopStroke at 5487 Hamlin Groves Trail has mini golf, ping pong, cornhole and foosball.
Burn off energy at Urban Air. The Urban Air Adventure Park at 5758 Hamlin Groves Trail has trampolines and climbing walls, so it is a good pick on a rainy day.
Where to eat in Horizon West
Tuesday is the night to eat out in Hamlin. Agave Bandido at 5365 Hamlin Groves Trail has Taco Tuesday with 50% off tacos. Pair that with a half-price movie and you have a cheap night out.
For dessert, Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream has a scoop shop in the Summerport area at 14387 Bridgewater Crossings Blvd. It is open until 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Find more local spots in our Hidden Gems guide.
Seasonal events in Horizon West
Flavor Fest Horizon West is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 9 PM on the green at 14111 Shoreside Way. Then on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 9 PM, Christmas at Hamlin brings a 25-foot tree, a tree lighting at 6 PM, caroling, photos with Santa and cookie decorating.
